Terms user agreement

Version 2026-10-08-draft. A draft: Terms' own plain statement of how it works, until counsel's version replaces it.

1 Who we are

Terms is a service of txtbook LLC. These terms are between txtbook LLC and you, and the organization you act for on Terms.

2 What Terms does

Terms keeps your organization's contracts, the dates they set, and the agreements you make with other organizations, and checks what an AI proposes against them. A person on your side decides what your side agrees to, signs, sends, or pays. Terms runs no language model of its own.

3 Your AI

You may connect your own AI, such as Claude or ChatGPT, under your own account with its provider. What your AI reads through Terms, that provider reads too, under your agreement with it. You choose what your AI may do, and you can pause or disconnect it at any time.

4 What the other side sees

Nothing your side drafts crosses to another organization until a person on your side sends it. Your side's own notes, positions, and staged drafts are never shown to another organization.

5 Your data

Your organization's data is its own. An admin can export all of it at any time, and delete the organization, after a 30-day hold. It's kept in Cloudflare, in your organization's region: [us]. When you send Terms a note through your AI, the people who make Terms read it, with Claude, Anthropic's AI.

6 Email

Terms emails only sign-in codes, invitations, and what one organization sends another through it. Everything else reaches you through your AI or your book.

7 Prices

Terms charges an organization for some acts its own people take, such as sending a request or choosing whom to agree terms with, and shows the price on the button before you press it. Billing is through Paddle, Terms' reseller.

8 Signing

When you sign on Terms, you sign with a passkey or a code Terms emails you, and Terms keeps a sealed record of who signed what and when.

9 Using Terms fairly

Don't use Terms to break the law, to pretend to be someone else or an organization you don't act for, or to get at what another organization keeps. We may suspend an account that does.

10 Liability

[For counsel to set: the limits of txtbook LLC's liability, and what it warrants.]

11 Governing law

[For counsel to set: the law that governs these terms, and where disputes are heard.]

12 Changes

When these terms change, Terms asks you to agree to the new version before you go on. Until you do, you can still export your organization's data.
